34 week belly

Haven't posted a belly shot in a while... I put on this top today and it looks really different on now than it did in Hawaii, so I thought I should share.

More shower photos

Here are a few photos from the shower I had with coworkers. Julie's baby Kate was so sweet with Christina's new baby Lili, gently patting her head, how cute!

Baby shower!

We have had 2 lovely showers in the past week, and are now pretty well stocked for baby's arrival! Plus tons of cute girlie clothes to dress her in all summer long... what fun! Sunday we had a great day out at Katie's mom's house with relatives and friends. Fabulous Joe cooked an amazing spread for all the ladies, we had some games, and lots of beautiful presents. Here is a picture of a highlight: a hand knit quilt from my mom! Also a belly-rubs shot with my sister Maria and Melissa. My grandma also gave me a really nice album for photos and memories, we got some diapers and such practical items, Katie got us a car seat, and pink cuteness galore.
My friend Julie also threw us a lovely shower last weekend at her house, and we had a fun group of coworkers. I may post some pictures from that later if she sends me some.

HICCUPS!

This baby has been getting the hiccups ALL THE TIME. It's crazy! Yesterday she had the hiccups 3 times that I noticed, and if she keeps up her average at night when I am asleep that is truly a lot of hiccuping each day. My mom says that I was a big in-utero hiccuper, so maybe it's as the saying goes: like mother like daughter. It is pretty endearing... and yet I wonder if it means she'll be a big time hiccuper and therefore a big spitter upper when she is born. We shall see!
Today my friend Julie from work is hosting a baby shower for me at her house. It should be really fun, I can't wait! And there will be at least 2 cute baby girls there, too... I'll post pictures and such tomorrow.

Easter photos

Here are a few photos from our Easter weekend in Portland with family. We had a great time with everyone, it was really fun to see the twins, too. When Carl explained to Evie that there is a baby girl in my belly, she smiled and very knowingly said "Uh huh, and a baby boy, too!". Cute.
Suzanne also took Maria, Heidi Eric and I on a nursery decorating shopping trip and we got a bunch of cute lady bug themed bedding and decoration that will be so adorable looking when we have it all set up. The Yosts are coming up to help us paint and set up the weekend of May 9-10, and after the crib gets delivered by the grandparents we will be all set! I'll post more pictures as the baby room progresses.

Big Belly labor class

We spent the weekend in class learning about labor and birth at Big Belly services this weekend. The class is based off the book "Birthing from Within". We both actually really enjoyed it, learned a lot and gained confidence in our ability to birth this baby! Now we just need to review and practice what we learned so that we keep everything that was crammed into our heads in just a couple short days.
It's starting to feel like time is getting short until baby arrives... I think mostly it feels that way because we are so busy and have so much going on between now and then. This weekend is Easter and we will be home for family fun, next weekend a baby shower with my coworkers and the following a shower with my girlfriends, the Yosts are coming down at some point to paint and prepare her room, my grandparents are coming to town to drop off our hand me down crib, we have baptism preparation, and we still have breastfeeding, newborn care and one more evening hospital based labor class. Phew! And I'm scheduled to work full time up until June 5... we'll see how that goes. 12 hours is starting to feel awfully long. Anyway, it'll be a whirlwind and then she'll be here! I can hardly wait.

Baby dancing

Here are a couple kind of fuzzy videos of my belly bouncing as baby does some particularly acrobatic moves. It's surprisingly hard to show with the camera, but still entertaining! She was really active all day yesterday, including about half an hour of crazy kicking at about 4:30 am :-). Also I couldn't figure out how to edit, so they are both a little long, most of the action is in the beginnings.
