POD Baby's first head band

It might be a little over the top, but isn't she cute?

2 months

Nellie Bean is 2 months old! To my eyes she has grown a ton and really filled out. She's 10 pounds 2 ounces now, and 23.5 inches, quite long and slim.
We had a big family celebration thanksgiving weekend with family in from Germany for the baptism of Johanna and Nell. Here is dad's link to the baptism pictures: http://www.pbase.com/peterschmidt/taufen

Getting to know her better has been such a joy. She is cooing, babbling and smiling a ton. She does the cutest rosebud mouth talking face ever. She does funny raspberry noises when I change her diaper, almost like she's saying "brrrr".
Here are a couple pictures of her in the same outfit I put her in at 5 days. She's 3 inches longer! And in a big fluffy cloth diaper.

At 5 days. So tiny!

And a few more cute ones to document her growth.

Nellie 4 weeks

Almost a month old! Time really does fly.
Nellie is doing well. Her newborn clothes are getting tight, her cheeks are chubby and her eyes are bright. She wants to be held more, and fusses a bit more than she was as a brand new one, but still not all that much. We recently discovered she loves baths. And she has given us a few fleeting smiles, soon she will be ready to do some real ones which I am looking forward to so much.

Happy Halloween!!

These little monsters were super crazy this morning, and we haven't even consumed any sugar yet. Sully and her sidekick Mike are just the cutest, eh? All the kids at preschool were adorable, too!

Update: trick or treating was super fun. Nonno came along and took some great pics.

Nellie 5 days old

Our baby girl is doing great. She lost some weight and turned a bit jaundiced, but has started gaining back and nursing better.
Yesterday I got out the "real" camera and took some adorable photos. Looking at them a then back at blog pics from 2009 I really see so much of Josie in her.
Today we are having some professional pics taken, and I can't wait for those. I'm sure I'm going to be a bit annoying for a while with the number of pictures, but I can't help it. She's too cute.

37 weeks... FULL TERM!

Well, today marks full term status: 37 weeks! Only a couple weeks to go and I am feeling so glad, so HAPPY to be meeting her soon. Finally!

Other stats:
Symptoms: Pretty much the same as I have been the last month or two... just more. I have also been having restless legs at night, which is apparently a pregnancy thing, I have never had it before. Basically it feels like my legs are crawling, kind of itchy and tingly and weird, makes it very hard to sleep. Eric has been helping me out by giving me indian burns as hard as he can on both legs before I try to sleep. Bizarrely that helps a bit.Lastly, I am always hot. Like really hot, T shirt and shorts when it's 60 degrees and raining hot.
Weight gain: 30  pounds and counting.
Cravings: I don't really feel that much like eating. Weird. I am frequently hungry, but food makes me feel gross. Small snacks and meals, pineapple and juice.
OB update: 2 cms dilated, 80% effaced and baby is WAY low. This explains why I have been measuring small, because she is tucked down low in my pelvis. This is very good news. It means I have a head start whenever labor begins, or if I am induced it is likely to be a smooth and successful process. Phew.

Here is a fun video of shewhoshallnotbenamed dancing in my belly:

Welcome cousin!

Josie's cousin was born yesterday September 12, a baby girl named Johanna Louisa who looks just like my sister Maria. 8 lb 10 oz, with a bruised little noggin and a little bit of brown peach fuzz. I'm an aunt for the first time!
Josie was exploding with excitement to visit, but actually did a great job being gentle and sweet.

35 week update

35 weeks. Had another growth scan this week, and baby is growing very well with an estimated weight of 5 lb 10 oz. The hemorrhage in my placenta is gone, and everything looks good.
She has a new fetus name... Shewhoshallnotbenamed. Which is kind of a joke because we just can't decide what to name her.
Other stats:
Symptoms: my body is feeling very tired. Low back pain is bothering me, but the sciatica seems to have subsided a bit. I can't get comfortable enough to sleep at night and have to get up and pee at least 5 times.
Weight gain: 26 pounds and counting.
Cravings: iced tea still ranking high on the list, as well as salt and vinegar chips and seaweed chips. And chocolate ice cream. I seem to be having trouble stomaching much protein in the mornings, which sometimes brings out the food werewolf by mid morning. I'm working on it.

My sister is still cooking her baby, she's almost two weeks overdue now. Tonight she'll start an induction, and I am so excited to finally be meeting baby Grompdock soon.

34 weeks- Pregnant woman tests trampoline

Not much new to report. Plugging along... impatiently.
This weekend has been great, the most free time we've had as a family in a long time. I've seen tons of Maria, who is free all of a sudden because she didn't schedule much past her due date, which was the 27th. And we've gotten lots of house projects done, including the construction of our new 8 ft trampoline, intended for use by Josie when the weather turns, but also fun for me :)
My "Can't Touch This" shirt is looking a little worse for wear, but there is no way I'm going to stop wearing it!
