3 months!

Josie is 3 months old! She is doing new things every day, it's really fun. She has been vocalizing a lot more, and is having a great time with a new screech that she recently discovered. She has also started giggling, a real little girl giggle. We've only seen it a couple of times but it is just about the cutest thing ever. The top photo is giggles and smiles she is giving Eric while he is making silly faces and sounds at her.
She is also becoming super distracted... she'd rather do almost anything than nap these days and even her old favorite (feeding!) is taking second place to playing and looking around now.
Another piece of good news: I am extending my maternity leave to a total of 6 months, and going back part time in the beginning of December. I am feeling really happy with that decision. Now that things are getting a bit easier with Josie I can really enjoy a few more months home with her!

WHO does she look like?

I thought it might be fun to post a few pictures of Eric and I as babies to spark the debate: who does she look like? I think the answer is a little like both and maybe mostly like herself!

Baptism

We had a big crowd of relatives in town this weekend for Josie's baptism. Dad, Arnold and Kyle all took lots of pictures so I look forward to posting those soon. Here are a few I took before and after church. Josie sure was sweet, loved being passed around and meeting everyone!

Bilirubin update

Josie's latest bilirubin was finally normal! No more heel pokes for my little baby... yippee!

10 week update

This week has been a world of new things. Josie is starting to drool in earnest, is getting her fist and thumb to her mouth with some regularity, and has started pumping her arms and legs like crazy when she is excited (which is great in the bouncy seat, because she can make it go now which has greatly increased her tolerance for it!). She is also vocalizing much more, with coos and gurgles and screeches.
She got another round of shots this morning and yet another bilirubin blood draw, which I am starting to get so sick of! We should get that result this evening or tomorrow and hopefully will have a plan of when we can stop all those pokes.
We are looking forward to a house full of guests this weekend in honor of Josie's baptism this Sunday. Should be a fun family event. Even Oma will be there from Germany!

Eric's birthday

Yesterday was Eric's birthday. We dressed Josie up in her party dress and went out to a family style italian dinner with friends, which was great! Before we left we gave her a bath, and since we lost the plug to the kitchen sink somehow, she got a bath in our big stew pot. We thought it was pretty funny... looked like we were going to cook her!
